Name: Andreas Wallberg
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden
Position: Production Technician
Hello! I am Andreas and I work in the production team where I build the BIO X, Inkredible and a variety of printheads. I have been interested in science and technology from a young age, so I did not hesitate to apply when I saw the job opportunity at CELLINK. Working here for the past year has been a valuable learning experience. Seeing the company grow and knowing that my effort contributes to the future of medicine is really rewarding.
My previous work was in my father’s electrical installation company. I ran wires, installed lights and tested electrical installations.
In my free time I fly and build radio-controlled airplanes from scratch. It involves a lot of crashing, so most weekends I spend either repairing or improving my builds.
What sparked your interest to work with bioprinting?
Joining CELLINK! I only realized how exciting bioprinting is after I started working here. It is a great opportunity to watch the production and development of new technologies up close.
What do you hope to see happen with bioprinting during your lifetime?
Functioning 3D-printed organs that can be transplanted into humans.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I am pretty good at baking cakes. My favorite one is a chocolate cake with cocostosca on top. It is called “ryttarkaka” in Swedish.
What was your dream job as a child?
As a child I wanted to become an electrician just like my father.
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
The ability to fly.
