Currently focused on growing cartilage and skin cells suitable for testing drugs and cosmetics. CELLINK believes that within 20 years it could be used to produce organs that are actually fit for human implantation.
Pharmaceutical firms are also increasingly using CELLINK’s technology to develop products, by conducting tests on bioprinted human tissues, potentially reducing the need for animal trials in the process.
Bioprinting allows you to print human cells together with a bioink material to create an envivronment that the cells can thrive in and grow (like they would in the body).
