APPLICATION NOTE

3D Bioprinting Skin Models with Primary Dermal Fibroblast Cells

This application note demonstrates that a structurally complex and physically relevant in vitro skin model could be created using the BIO X 3D bioprinter, validating the suitability of the technology for skin tissue engineering. The fullthickness skin model was 3D bioprinted using primary dermal fibroblast cells embedded in GelXA SKIN bioink and keratinocytes embedded in ColMA. The bioprinted construct was cultured for a total of 14 days, at which point a robust skin tissue equivalent was observed.
